Segue1 Solutions is one aspect of the permanent relationship between Richard and Mery Propster. It was conceived as a means to assist individuals and organizations process changes they have determined must be made. It makes available over a half century of experience in organizations and bureaucracies with emphases in management, organizational development and human resources.
Segue Solutions is based on a set of "realities' gleaned over the years in the "real" world. These realities include the following:
Change has no natural constituency.
• Investment in the status quo is immense
• You can never underestimate the power of culture.
Failing to plan is planning to fail.
• You may be able to do without a plan, but you cannot do without planning.
Disharmony at the top multiplies exponentially with each downwarre movement.
• Top management must be virtually full-time change advocates.
• Middle managers must faithfully manage transition implementation tasks.
Messages must be communicated consistently.
• The same message must take many and varied forms to be heard by all.
There is an organizational "golden rule."
• He who supplies the "gold" must also supply the rules.
